We Are Excited To Present To You
Our EXCLUSIVE Online Interview With 12YC:

12YC Band Members:
J Yungeberg - bass/vocals
Joe Riley - lead vocals
Phil Maurice - drums/vocals
Bart Overturf - guitar/vocals

How Did You Come Up With Your Band Name?
We wrote about 20 names down, & Bart, Phil & I (J) had been friends, & off n' on on bands, together for @ 12 years, hence 12YC. We had some real shit ones to pick from too (although I still liked Blood Kiss Grenade, so f*ck you guys..who cares we didn't know what the f*ck it meant!). But 12YC seemed most appropriate, even if it makes a boring story ;)

How Long Have You Been Together As A Band?
Phil & I (J) dreamed this beast up in Sept or Oct '05. Found Joe right around Christmas that year, & lucked into Barthoven in Jan '06. So more or less a year. (incidentally, we've done more in this last year that ANY of us had ever done in any other band for 15 years. Hell, we've done more than most of the bands around here have.

What's The Funniest Thing That's Happened At One of Your Shows?
J- At a   show in Fairbury, Bart suddenly got possesed by the funk demon, & started jumping around, tongue hangin' out with the most goofy look on his face. Bart's usually rather statuesque, so that cracked me up.

Phil-I would say prob. watching a stripper dry-hump Joe onstage at The Static Bar.   Or watching a birthday girl at the Great Bend show dry hump him.   That's always funny!

Joe-Bart came out of the closet   on halloween and we found out he looks scary in drag...LOL.

What is One Thing you Want Our Readers To Know About Your Band?
J- That we put on the most high energy, fun ass show that you can see for $3.   Come see for yourself.   Oh, & buy our CD. wait, that's 2. Hmmm....that we're the next generation influenced by the kings of rock aiming to make music fun again. And check out our CD....shit, there's 4. OK, really just 3, so take out the periods & read it all as a run on sentence & just consider it one big "one thing".

Phil- I would have to say that we're here to entertain, and make it as fun as possible.   We don't want anybody to take anything too seriously.   We're tongue-in-cheek.

Bart- That four bums from Kansas worked their asses off to get to this spot, and that it has been a dream come true for all of us. We set ourselves apart from the other bands in that there is nothing like us out there that i know about...loud rock and roll combined with a kick-ass show!!!

Joe- Beware we are coming to a town near you,so lock up your daughters...

Where Do Each Of You See Yourself in 10 years?
J- Fat, rich, & at the Grammy's wondering how the f**k Jethro Tull beat us & Motley Crue out for rock artist of the year.

Phil-Still entertaining.

Bart-Happy

Joe-On the road no doubt

Where Did You Grow Up?
J- Abilene, KS
Phil-Everywhere.
Bart-I was born in abilene,
raised in Topeka and became an adult in Salina
(adult is stretching it a bit...lol)
Joe-In a   little town called Iola, KS.

What Person or Artist Would You Like To Meet?
J- Hmmmm, I've already met my biggest influences (nikki Sixx for one), but I'd have to say God, just so I'd know.

Phil-I would have to say Tommy Lee.

Bart-Joe Perry of Aerosmith

Joe-Tom Hanks, Todd Mcfarlane and all of Motley...

What's The Biggest Reward To You From Being In This Group?
J- Writing music that people seem to dig the hell outta with my best buds & knowin' what's in store for us.

Phil-Biggest reward for me is getting to play with my best friends, and entertaining the fans.

Bart-Knowing that I have done more with this band than all the other bands I've done in the past combined. Seeing places, meeting new people and it keeps gettin better and better.

Joe-When the fans know our songs so well that they can be singing the lyrics right along with me.To me there is no better feeling.......

What's the Biggest Challenge For You As A Band?
J- Money & time, getting everyone on the same page, convincing Phil that the back up vocals on "I Want You (On Me)" are fine.....

Phil- All four of us agreeing on anything.
Everyone has their own opinions on how things should flow.

Bart- Its hard to say for sure cause I don't see things like that. Doing what needs to be done and stayin on track perhaps.

Joe- Getting to play other states and start a US tour.

Who Or What Are Your Biggest Influences?
J- Nikki Sixx is everything. The best songwriter, showman, icon. I look to him for advice on a lot of things I do now, especially on the business end & writing.

Phil-Everybody.   I could sit and list a million of them.   Everyone from Conway Twitty all the way to Godsmack.

Bart-As a guitar player people like Slash, Ace Frehley, Joe Perry, Micheal Schenker, Gary Moore. As a musician probably the Stones, Zeppelin, my moods, curvy women and wellbutrin...hahaha.

Joe-It's quite a large list but singers like Michael Sweet, Bret Michaels,Vince Neil as well as different music styles such as blues and some of the older country.
