KNUCKLE DEEP Band Members:
From Left to Right:
Dean Sudik (drums), Nick Richardson (bass),
Dave Svatora (sound/lights), Drew Ehrisman (vocals),
Steve Shumake (guitar).

How Did You Come Up With Your Name?
Steve (guitar): My wife & I were driving with my 2 year old in the back of the car. It was pretty quiet back there so I asked my wife if my daughter was sleeping. She looked back and burst out laughing. She said no, she's back there knuckle deep in her nose. After we laughed for quite a while, my wife said "hey, that'd be a good name for a band." Several years later when Drew & I were starting our own band, that came back to me and it fits perfectly. People don't really believe the story and say we're all just a bunch of perverts....
and we don't try really hard to tell them any different.   :)

How Long Have You Been Together As A Band?
Drew & Steve have been together as Knuckle Deep since August of 2001.
Just finally got this definitive lineup together in January 2007.

What's The Funniest Thing That's Happened At One of Your Shows?
Steve: My brother-in-law Frank buying really, REALLY big panties at Wal-Mart
and then my cousin Bobby throwing them on stage and hitting me in the
face with them.

Dean (drums): Drew selling Husker tickets during the show between songs.

Nick (bass): When we did an encore of "Scared" and then messed up the end
of the song.

Dave (sound/lights): Nick dedicating a song to his cousin because he couldnt
be there and had to go to church.

What is One Thing you Want Our Readers To Know About You?
Steve: We put on a great live show, but the bottom line is the music....
without that, you can have awesome clothes, props and lights,
but it is empty without quality music.

Drew (vocals): When you come out to see KD you're always guaranteed
a killer show.

Dean: I want you to know that there is nothing that I want you to know.
ya know?

Nick: I love playing Music.

Dave: We like boobies.

Where Do You See Yourself in 10 years?

Steve: Still tearing it up with KD...hopefully with all these same dudes.
Drew: Still rocking and writing songs.
Dean: Living the good life.
Nick: I have no clue...Probably playing somewhere with someone.
Dave: Elbow Deep?

Where Did You Grow Up?

Steve: Tekamah, NE
Drew: Beemer, NE
Dean: Southeast Nebraska
Nick: Fairbury, NE
Dave: Columbus, NE

What Person or Artist Would You Like To Meet?
Steve: Stevie Blaze (guitarist/songwriter for Lillian Axe)
Drew: Seth Green 'cause that fucker is funny as hell.
Dean: Shakira
Nick: Dierks Bentley, because even though he is country he rocks.
Dave: I would like to "meet" Gretchen Wilson...nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

What's The Biggest Reward To You Individually From Being In This Group?
Steve: Playing the tunes the way they were meant to be played
with this group of musicians. There isn't anything we can't pull off...
it fuckin' rocks!

Drew: Good friends, good music & showing people a good time.

Dean: Playing in a band that knows what it means to "get it right".

Nick: Getting to learn and play with awesome musicians....oh and money too.

Dave: Seeing boobies! Seriously though, when people are having the time
of their lives it makes it so rewarding.

What's the Biggest Challenge For You Guys As A Band?

Steve: Clubs taking a chance on us for the first time...
they don't think what we are playing will work,
but once they hear us they are sold.

Drew: Bar owners calling us back when we are trying to get into a new place.

Dean: Finding time to rehearse.

Nick: Keeping our sound guy Dave focused on the sound
instead of picking up so many chicks.

Dave: Trying to see boobies.

Who Or What Are Your Biggest Influences?

Steve: Lots of major bands when I was growing up, but the regional bands I saw around here in the late 80's /early 90's that played the cover songs the correct way made me want to do the same thing: Crash Alley, Brass Kitten, Mad Atchu, Gemini, Tornado Ali, Mata Hari, Sing Sing, Redline, Repenthouse, Vandelyn Kross & Austin Healy. And then the party attitude of Zwarte' through about the middle of '92.

Drew: My Grandfather, he's been actively playing music for 70+ years.
His devotion to music & his family is nothing short of a miracle.

Dean: The Band Mr Big...or any virtuoso player.

Nick: I don't really have any influences. I guess maybe just my family.
They have all been in a band of some sort.

Dave: Pamela Anderson's boobs.
