How Did You Come Up With Your Name?
Well, we started out with a better name, the Vinyl Slackers, but then the whole CD fad took off
and made the name a little dated. Seriously, though, when we started the band, our friends and family all thought we were crazy.Johnny and Gason both grew up on pig farms and were expected to be pig farmers. Gason had a scholarship to play trombone at the University, and he turned it down to be a drummer (way stupid…he could have been the best pig-farming
trombonist in Nebraska history).
So the name Labeled kinda came from feeling that our lives were already chosen for us, and that pissed us off.

How Long Have You Been Together As A Band?
Well, John and Gason started playing together in 1998, but I think the first show was 1999 in front of friends at a local bar.

What's The Funniest Thing That's Happened At One of Your Shows?
About 5 years ago, a couple drunken hobos snuck onto our tour bus (an old 1970s school bus), and went to sleep.   When our gig was over, we started loading and woke the poor guys up.   We tried to kick them off, but one of them kept arguing and insisting he had a ticket to ride the bus. Apparently he lost it.“Yeah, whatever dude.”
We finally got rid of them after an hour or so, and the next day we found the guy’s bus ticket on the floor. We felt bad for at least 5 minutes.
We still have the ticket if he wants it back.

What is One Thing you Want Our Readers To Know About You?
We all have really large penises!   Sorry, that was too easy. But there are so many things--it’s difficult to label us…ha!   But to answer as best we can, we’d have to say www.labeledmusic.com. Again, sorry, that was shameless.

Where Do You See Yourself in 10 years?
Living off of royalties, producing other bands, and playing 20 dates a year for $60 a ticket.
Is there another 10-year goal for rock bands
that we don’t know about?

Where Did You Grow Up?
Uh, southeast Nebraska pig farms, git-er-done!   Ok, well Ryan grew up on the Missouri River and was a professional catfish noodler till he lost an arm, but he’s the only one who can imitate Larry the Cable Guy, so he pretends he slopped hogs like everyone else.

What Person or Artist Would You Like To Meet?
Anyone who will get us some freaking gigs in areas where there are more people than cows. Or, we want to meet anyone who will give us money-for-nothing (you know, like the Dire Straits song lyric…or is it the Puddle of Mudd song lyric?)

What's The Biggest Reward To You Individually From Being In This Group?
Gason: So far, it has been becoming a role model. When I stop the show and lead the audience in a round of shots from the bar, I see a lot of underage kids in the crowd and they appear to be saying, “I wish I were you.” That’s making an impact, man!

Ryan: Dude, that’s so messed up. Some kid out there reading this is taking you seriously.

Gason: Fine, then my reward is that I don’t have to be a boring rich farmer like my old man.   Instead I get to be a dirt-poor musician in a state that only listens to country music and the Husker Tunnel Walk song.

John: Hey, don’t knock country music.   Because of this band, I can walk into any country bar with my mohawk and cut-up jeans, and I got farm-girls all over me.   Hell, I don’t even know how to 2-step.

Ryan: Uh, that’s faux-hawk, John!   And chicks dig you everywhere, you sexy piece of ass!   As for me, I’m still shopping for the right 5,000 women…I’m a tad more picky.   No, my reward so far is that I get to sing lead and play rhythm guitar and play lead guitar and be the only one in the band with a normal metabolism and so therefore be a tad overweight and out-of-shape and worn the hell out every show. But hey, if I had any energy left over, I’d be scoring babes and working on the role model thing really hard too.

John: Cry me a river!

What's the Biggest Challenge For You Guys As A Band?
Getting our 2 millionth fan

Who Or What Are Your Biggest Influences?
Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, Motley Crue, Alice in Chains, Metallica (and many more), and really cheap brands of beer…oh yeah, and Jager.
