Band Members:

Josh "The J" Key - Guitars
Mike "The Evil" Kocian - Bass
Alex "Shmalex" Preiss - Drums
How Did You Come Up With Your Name? Rob thought of it at 2am one sleepless night.
He told me the name, I said, "That's the one!"
How Long Have You Been Together As A Band? The current lineup came together in 2000, although there
was a previous incarnation of the band called Asinine that started in 98.
What's The Funniest Thing That's Happened At One of Your Shows? Rob was pressured to do a beer bong on stage, and failed miserably. He tried to get out of it, but Alex started a chant by hitting his drums slowly, pretty soon the whole audience was going: "CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!" He got the beer about halfway down and started coughing and spit beer everywhere. I had to step in and redeem our bands honor. Thank god I've done a lot of Irish Car Bombs and Saki Bombers in the past.
What is One Thing you Want Our Readers To Know About You? Despite our comedy nature, we are very professional and take what we do very seriously. I wonder how many opportunities (like tours, interviews, gigs, etc) have passed us by just because we come across like we might be an "out-of-control party band". Don't be scared to do business with tha 'Stick! We have references, and they will have nothing but good things to say about how we handle ourselves.
Where Do You See Yourself in 10 years? I see us with an awesome cult following that packs venues everytime we play, who are notorious for doing weird and crazy s*** at our shows. Half of the show is Psychostick, and the half is the insanity in the audience. I hope to see flying marshmallows, paper airplanes, and Nerf balls flying through the air. I hope to see people wearing hilarious hats, banana costumes, and holding up hand-made signs so funny that if I read one I'll mess up while playing. But most of all, I hope that our fans can come to a Psychostick show, and instantly feel a sense of connection to any other person in that room, and maybe leave the show with a few more instant friends.
Where Did You Grow Up? Rob and myself both grew up in Odessa, TX. Interesting fun fact: we both went to high school together at the same high school that the movie "Friday Night Lights" is about. Alex grew up in Phoenix, Mike grew up in east Texas in the Austin area.
What Person or Artist Would You Like To Meet? Steve Oedekerk. If you've ever seen Kung Pow 2 or those awesome Thumb movies (Thumbtanic, Thumbwars, Batthumb), that's him.
He's totally got our sense of humor and is a great director.
What's The Biggest Reward To You Individually From Being In This Group? Well, I can only answer for myself, but the reward I've gotten is messages from fans who said that our cd helped them get through a tough part of their lives, that it brightened their day when they were down. Some of them sounded like they were hinting that they might have even commit suicide. That's the kind of thing that makes you feel like you can die happy because you know you made a difference.
What's the Biggest Challenge For You Guys As A Band? Connecting our name "Psychostick" with the Beer song. Many, MANY people have heard the Beer song and liked it, but in a lot of cases they don't even realize there's a real touring band behind it with a whole full length cd full of songs they would probably love too.
Who Or What Are Your Biggest Influences? Let's see.... Machine Head, Meshuggah, Pantera, Sevendust, Primus, Hatebreed, Glassjaw, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bruce Lee....
