Skinny B

How Did You Come Up With Your Thunder Jock Name?
First I wanted to come up with something
that went well with shed...what better than skinny B(bitch)

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you as a thunder(radio)jock?
the funniest? I work with Shed how do you pick one?

What is one thing you want our readers to know about you?
tough one, I guess I would just let them know that what you see is what you get!
I don't make excuses for myself

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
program director and jock for a top 100 market rock station

Where did you grow up?
mostly Nebraska, but I moved around a   lot.I lived in California, Iowa, and finally Nebraska

What person or artist would you like to meet?
I have two, Maynard James Keenan (lead singer of tool)
and Mancow (Chicago rock station morning personality)

What's the biggest reward to you from being a part of thunder?
doing what I love!
I've been in radio for 7 years
and I'm finally working for a format
that I really love and am passionate about.
I love radio, but the payoff is so much better
when you're doing a format that you love.

What's the biggest challenge for you guys as a thunder jock's?
maintaining our edge on air without going too far. I've had a lot of people call us "shock jocks"...
we aren't even close to being that.

Who or what are your biggest influences?
Dave Meffert is probably my major personal influence.
I worked with Dave at radio station in Lincoln, Ne.
Dave went form Lincoln to Dallas. that's market 176 to #5.
now, Dave does nothing but freelance work form his house in the mountains in Colorado.
his drive and influence has helped me to strive to get better at what I do and never give up on your dreams.
as long as you keep drive like that you can achieve anything.

Shed

How Did You Come Up With Your Thunder Jock Name?
It was a nickname from high school that just stuck

How Long Have You Been A Radio Jock?
A little over three years now.
I was a intern in Kearney one summer,a intern/part-timer
for two years at Clear Channel Lincoln, and I’ve been in GI for 9 months.

What's The Funniest Thing That's Happened To You As A Thunder(Radio)Jock?
I can’t think of anything exceptionally hilarious. It’s a lot of little jokes every single day we’re here. With 6 guys in their 20’s working here it’s kinda like being in a frat house.

What is One Thing You Want Our Readers To Know About You?
I like John Mayer okay. I’m not gay, I’m not less of a man, his songs are just so damn catchy. Seriously I would play songs about bubble gum kisses and candy farts all day if it got me millions of dollars and lots of chicks. I guess what I’m really trying to say is that as soon as I get a chance to sell out I’m going to. Someday your child will have a room with Shed bed sheets, Shed posters, and will start his/her day with a nice bowl of Shed crunch while watching the Shed cartoon holding their Shed doll. It’s going to be spectacular.

Where Do You See Yourself in 10 years?
Working on the Shed Christmas album

Where Did You Grow Up?
Hildreth, NE

What Person or Artist Would You Like To Meet?
I can’t say that is one person that I would like to meet more than anyone else. One of the few perks of our job is the chance to meet artist. It’s cool, but if you get the chance to actually talk to them you realize that most are not that much different than you. Don’t get me wrong it’s awesome getting to meet some of these people. I guess If I had to say anyone I would like to meet Howard Stern for obvious reasons and Trent Reznor just because I want to see if he’s really that messed up.

What's The Biggest Reward To You From Being A Part Of Thunder?
Getting to start the station I always wanted to work at

What's the Biggest Challenge For You Guys As Thunder Jock's?
Well not sucking on the air is kinda hard because…well I’m not that good. I’m the Music Director so I have a difficult time keeping the music in check. I’ve got our younger listeners wanting to hear mostly new, harder rock.   Then I’ve got older listeners wanting more of the classic stuff mixed in. I’m constantly moving music around to prevent our station from moving too far to the right or the left. I also deal with Skinny B’s stank every day.

Who Or What Are Your Biggest Influences?
Again no one in particular. Anyone who follows what they believe and becomes successful. I’ve had a lot of help from everyone I’ve worked with and they’ve all made me better.
